The gun was developed by Mauser employees — brothers Fidel, Friedrich, and Josef Federle.
Fidel Federle headed the experimental shop arms factory "Mauser", and the new pistol was originally called P-7.63 or gun Federle. Later, the gun was patented in the name of Paul Mauser in Germany in 1895 g.
