Shiala is an Asari paratrooper, one of the followers of the matriarch Benezia, who fell under the influence of the "Lord" with her. It was given to a Torian by Saren on Feros as payment for knowledge of the Prothean cipher. She was later released by Shepard, for which she passed on her knowledge to him, and later, freed from the influence of the Torian, she began to help the colonists of Zhu's Hope.
